| It is recommended that Great Danes and other large breeds be fed with a low protein low fat food such as 23% protein and 12% fat. I have made my own research about that topic and I don't completely agree with that statement. We live in Puerto Rico where 85 degrees Fahrenheit is the average temperature. Active dogs exposed to this weather burn more calories than other dogs in cool weather countries. In order to prevent bloats, I don't overfeed my dogs, so that means that they need more protein and fat to satisfy their needs. In the past I used to feed my dogs twice a day with a mix of half pound of Eagle Pack 23/12 Large & Giant Breed Formula and half pound of Eagle Pack 30/20 Power Formula in order to raise the protein amount. On the present I am feeding my dogs with ANF Superpremium Large Breed Formula and I have no need to mix two formulas. ANF's exclusive oxygen limited method of packing keeps the freshness and the taste for longer time than other premium or superpremium foods so its shelf life is also longer whats makes unnecessary to buy just one bag a time. Thats allows me to have plenty food on hands. |
